British Cycling is on the hunt for cyclists to volunteer with a new led ride programme coming to Sheffield this summer.
If you love cycling and are passionate about getting more people on their bikes, there’s no better time to become a Ride Leader with HSBC UK Guided Rides.
Guided Rides are rolling out across major towns and cities across the UK, offering fun group rides along scenic planned routes.
To become a Ride Leader, there’s no need to be a cycling expert, just have a good level of fitness and enthusiasm to support others in your community.
Paul Billington, director of culture and environment at Sheffield City Council, said: “For anyone with a love of cycling, and who’s keen to inspire that love in others, this ride leaders course is ideal.
“You don’t have to be a pro rider yourself to take part. You just have to be fit, enthusiastic, and someone who enjoys getting out and about in The Outdoor City on two wheels.
“Here in Sheffield we have a huge range of scenic cycle routes that are suitable for all the family, so it’s great to see more people being encouraged to get on their bikes.”
The free, assessed one-day course qualifies Ride Leaders to deliver guided bike rides for groups of beginner and intermediate level adults and accompanied children on roads and cycle paths.
