Running your own business or thinking of setting one up? Confused about business regulations? Small businesses are invited to attend a free event from The Federation for Small Businesses (FSB) to get insight, advice and meet other like minded local business people.

    • When: Friday 20 September 2019 - 12.00 noon - 2.00

    • Book your free place here.

The FSB are working closely with Councils across the Sheffield City Region and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, on ‘South Yorkshire Better Business for All’ (BBfA) an initiative from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Recently set up in the region, the initiative aims to improve the relationship, communication and outcomes between local regulators and businesses.

Small businesses are invited to this event, where you can find out more about the BBfA initiative and ask questions about how this will make life easier for you to do business in Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

Representatives from Business Energy and Industrial Strategy will be in attendance as well as local councillors, the council's Head of Environmental Regulation & Chair of Sheffield City Region BBfA, who will confirm progress, benefits and opportunities to businesses as well as how you can influence this work. There will also be an opportunity to network over a buffet lunch and find out about business start-up and expansion advice available in the city and sub region.  Book your free place here.

A number of regulatory technical experts will be present at the event, so this is an ideal opportunity to get free face to face advice about regulatory and environmental issues affecting businesses, including: building standards, food (including hygiene and allergen issues), licensing, pest control, area improvement and anti-social behaviour, rogue traders and most topical; signposting for Brexit impact advice on business.
