Sheffield Bus Partnership bosses will meet this week to drive improvements to passenger journeys to make sure the city-wide network changes deliver for customers.
Sheffield City Council Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport and Vice-Chair of the Sheffield City Region (SCR) Transport Committee, Cllr Terry Fox, has called the meeting with Bus Partnership leaders from First South Yorkshire, Stagecoach in Sheffield, TM Travel, Sheffield Community Transport and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), on Wednesday 18 November.
The Partnership has been reviewing customer comments on a daily basis since bus service changes were put in place on 1 November. The meeting will go through this feedback and performance data in order to agree necessary improvements to the new network, especially journey performance and capacity.
Sheffield Bus Partnership’s network review was shaped using travel patterns and community feedback from around 2,500 people, following public consultation in July. Lower price multi-operator tickets launched alongside the new network, making it more affordable for passengers to get on the first bus that comes along.
Cllr Fox, said: “Customer satisfaction is important to me and I need to see that the Sheffield Bus Partnership is closely monitoring all comments and responding positively to the issues arising.
“While teething problems and an increased number of comments are expected when changes of this scale are made, I have called this meeting to ensure the Partnership is doing all it can to improve journeys for passengers, by reviewing the feedback we have received and putting improvements in place where possible, as soon as practical.”
Information about Sheffield’s bus network, new timetables and the improved multi-operator ticket range is available online, at bus stops, in interchanges and on-board buses.
