Sheffield City Council has announced the appointment of its new Executive Director of People Services.
The post became vacant with the retirement last month of Jayne Ludlam.
The new post holder will be John Macilwraith, who will join Sheffield City Council from Cumbria County Council. In his current role of Executive Director People, John is responsible for Children’s and Adults Services and is Deputy Chief Executive. He is responsible for a significant budget and a substantial number of staff which includes a large in house residential care provider.
John Mothersole, Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council, said: “I am delighted we have been able to appoint John. He brings enormous experience, a great deal of expertise, and a track record of substantial achievement. He is highly capable and very ambitious for the city, the Council and – in particular – the people of Sheffield. I know we will all welcome him.”
John Macilwraith is expected to be in post by September.
