We understand there are many people in Sheffield mourning the sad loss of Harry Harpham MP and former deputy leader of Sheffield City Council.
A Book of Condolence has been opened at Sheffield Town Hall for people to pay tribute to him.
Councillor Julie Dore, Leader of Sheffield City Council, said: “It’s difficult to express in words how sad this news is. I feel privileged to have known and worked alongside Harry, he was not only a loyal colleague but a valued friend, who dedicated his life to fighting for what he believed in. My thoughts are with Gill and all of their family.”
John Mothersole, Chief Executive of Sheffield City Council said: “We are extremely sad to learn of the death of Harry Harpham MP and former deputy leader of Sheffield City Council. Harry was a very well-liked and respected colleague and friend, and a true fighter for Sheffield people. Our thoughts go out to his family at this very sad time.”
