Tuesday 2 February

Get a flavour for the Moor Market as Sheffield City Council brings a selection of its independent traders to Fargate – with roadshow style mini-markets on the first Thursday of every month.

For one day a month city centre shoppers will be able to sample what’s on offer at the Moor Market and each month will bring a different selection of stalls.

The first mini-market takes place this Thursday 4 February and shoppers can expect to try a wide range of goodies, gifts and garments.

Councillor Leigh Bramall, Deputy Leader of Sheffield City Council said: “We’re committed to supporting the growth of independent businesses in Sheffield. The Moor Market is home to many of our finest small businesses and we work with them to find opportunities where they can thrive.

“There’s so much on offer in the market, with unique gift stalls, top quality continental cuisine, fresh meat and fruit and vegetables, and so much more at great value for money, but many people don’t realise the diverse range of stalls we have.

“These roadshows will allow our traders to showcase their fantastic products and give our city centre shoppers the chance to try them, and encourage them to become regular customers at the main stall where they’ll get the full Moor Market experience.”

This Thursday shoppers can enjoy sweet treats from the World Wide Candy Co, Spanish and Italian delicacies from Louro, the finest cuts of meat from Morley’s Castle Meats, your fresh five-a-day from Tracy’s Quality Fruit & Veg, holistic healing at Amoor Ancestral Aromatherapy and party wear for every occasion Glitz & Glam Occasions.

The stalls on Fargate will be open from 9am – 5pm. The original stalls in the Moor Market will be open as usual so regular Moor Market customers won’t miss out on their favourite buys.

More information is on the Moor Market website http://sheffieldmarkets.com/markets/moor-market where information about each roadshow will be posted in advance of the event.
