28 March 2017

There will be a short ceremony in the Peace Gardens tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday 29 March) to remember the people that died and were injured in the attack on London last week.

The commemoration will start at 2.40pm with a minute’s silence. The Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Councillor Denise Fox, and the Lord-Lieutenant will then lay flowers in remembrance. Short speeches by the Chief Constable and leaders of the Christian and Muslim faiths will follow.

Similar events will take place on Westminster Bridge and in other Core Cities at the same time.

As a show of unity people are being asked to carry a single flower, which can be laid down as a sign that we will never forget those who have lost their lives.
