Excitement is building for what promises to be a great day of sport in Sheffield on Sunday September 24th with the 10k race and Sheffield’s first football derby in five years.
Thousands of people are expected to attend and are advised to plan their travel in advance, allow extra time and follow diversion signs. Even if you don’t want to get involved in these two fantastic sporting events but plan to travel around Sheffield, please ensure you are aware of the information below.
Asda Foundation 10k
- This starts at 9.30am on Arundel Gate, opposite the Crucible Theatre, and travels along Charter Row towards Ecclesall Road and up to Brocco Bank before returning to Arundel Gate. Click this link (Sheff_Derby Run-for-All_Map) for the map and details of road closures.

- The match between the Owls and the Blades will be at Hillsborough with kick off at 1.15pm. The 10k race will have finished by then but some roads may still be closed.
Important travel advice
Use public transport where possible:
- If you are going to be taking a bus or tram to either or both events use the journey planner on the Travel South Yorkshire website to plan your journey. Additional information will also be provided on the bus stops of routes affected by the road closures and on the Travel South Yorkshire website where there is a dedicated disruptions page.
Extra trams will be available to get fans to the ground in Hillsborough and runners to and from the city centre.
