Streets Ahead has announced Age UK Sheffield as their new Charity of the Year, helping to support the charity’s important work with older people across the city.
Streets Ahead staff, who are Amey employees, are entitled to take one paid day every year to work on a project in the local community. This year Age UK Sheffield has been identified as the Charity of the Year for Streets Ahead staff to support.
Age UK Sheffield is an independent local charity with over 30 years’ experience of helping older people to get the most out of life by promoting the well-being of older people throughout Sheffield.
Streets Ahead staff will be able to use their days in a number of ways depending on their own skills, passions and interests and some staff may provide additional support through sponsored challenges such as the Sheffield 10K run.
Helen Johnson, Community and Employee Engagement Officer for Streets Ahead said: “We are pleased to announce Age UK Sheffield as our Charity of the Year. This is a vital local charity that our employees are looking forward to supporting using their varied skills and talents.”
Andy Callard, Business Development Manager for Age UK Sheffield said: “We are delighted that Streets Ahead has chosen Age UK Sheffield as their Charity of the Year. Our work takes us into many environments and there are various ways that staff, either as individuals or in teams can help, whether it be volunteering with older people’s gardening and decorating activities or taking on a sponsored fundraising challenge to support our work.”
