As the Great British Bake Off enters the semi-finals next week the Streets Ahead team were practicing their baking skills for a very good cause, when employees took part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’.
There was no shortage of cake and other sweet treats, thanks to the team who donated homemade buns and cakes for the fundraising event, raising over £200.
The money generously given will contribute towards Macmillan’s work helping those affected by cancer. The ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event and raised £25 million last year alone.
Graeme Symonds, Streets Ahead’s CIP Director at Amey, said: “The Streets Ahead team has done a fantastic job of organising the coffee morning and have given so generously.
“The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a very important fundraising event for Macmillan and has grown hugely over the years. Cancer affects so many people in one way or another so it’s great that we can support such a fantastic cause.”
Cllr Terry Fox, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transport said: “Macmillan coffee mornings are such a worthy cause and I am delighted that so many of the Streets Ahead team have taken time out of their day to make a contribution.”
