The student engagement strand assessed if the institution effectively engages with its students, including how applying learning to the real world is supported. The student environment strand judged how inclusive the teaching and learning environment is.
Overall the new assessment, which is largely based on a student survey, ranked Sheffield Hallam 51-75 out of 242 institutions across Europe for teaching excellence.
